Featured Work
KANKANTRI
“KANKANTRI (The Silk Cotton Tree)” is a poetic exploration of ancestry, spirituality, and cultural heritage. Filmed in Suriname, it follows a woman's transformative journey into a parallel universe where she connects with her ancestors—Chinese, African, Jewish, and Javanese—through dance and rituals, finding wholeness along the way. This autobiographical essay film blends art and documentary, reflecting Gabri Christa's deep connection to Suriname's history and the spiritual ties of its diverse cultures.
Another Building
Another Building is a series of short films that aims to connect the relationship of historic buildings and sites to their environment, and ultimately, to reflect upon the people and cultures that inhabit them. All films follow the Dutch African Diaspora.
