World Premiere of “Sheila” at ScreenDance Miami 2022

On January 22nd, Gabri Christa's new film "Sheila" has its world premiere at ScreenDance Miami’s 2022 Festival as part of the Short Films: Open Call Official Selections From Abroad at the Perez Art Museum Miami (1103 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33132). This event, happening from 2:00-3:00pm, features 11 short films and a discussions/Q&A with ScreenDance Miami Festival Director Pioneer Winter, and featured artists.

On January 28th, the film will screen again as part of the Projection Wall Screening 2 selection. This evening of selected films is out of doors at the New World Center’s Projection Wall at Soundscape Park (400 17th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139) and features SHEILA by Gabri Christa; RAISON D’ÊTRE by Randy Valdes; DOLORES by Gina Margillo; and IN BALANCHINE’S CLASSROOM by Connie Hochman.

Sheila (2021) is about a dancer who blows out a candle and finds herself in a magical world of memory , dance and presence. The film is an experimental short bio doc starring Sheila Rohan, one of the founding dancers of Dance Theatre of Harlem.
