Introducing: Partner & Production Assistant & Upcoming projects
Winter is here but Spring has arrived in my world when the year started. Yes indeed I found a Partner and a Production Assistant.
Marilys Ernst brings new media technologies to theatre and dance works. Collaborating with artists, Ellen MacLaughlin, Carl Hancock-Rux, Karen Kandel and filmmaker Alice Elliot, Ernst’ artistry and technical savvy have earned her a reputation as ‘the person who makes everyone else’s work look good’. She is the recipient of a 2002 OBIE for her work on the Public Theatre’s production of TALK being the first videographer ever to receive the award. Additionally, she’s received an Iris and Silver Quill Award of Excellence and a Greenwall Foundation Grant for her work with the S.E.M. Ensemble.
Jonatta Moore graduated from Wheaton College in 2003 and has since pursued her goals of working in the arts. After receiving her Master’s from the School of Arts, Culture, and Environment at the University of Edinburgh, she began working with Gabri Christa to capture the essence of humanity and culture in communities around the world.
That Marilys Ernst became my partner in the ANOTHER BUILDING series is both a surprise and a no- brainer. As most of you know I have collaborated with Marilys since 2002. She has been the media artist/designer on the Fire & Fire, Landscape on Hold, and Dominata. She also edited Another Building # 2: Savoneta, and was the music editor on both # 1 & 2. Marilys and her company MiARTbox also designed this new website. So this partnership is a natural one. I know we can work together, we have collaborated under enormous stress. Jonatta Moore (Production Assistant) was born in Liberia, grew up in New York and elsewhere, and got her Masters from the University of Edinburgh. A perfect eclectic mix for this project. Come to think of it Marilys also lived in Pakistan and other places, these are the kind of women I like naturally.

Upcoming
I will be an adjudicator (judge) again for ACDFA (American College Dance Festival) for the North-Central: March 18-21, 2010. This one will take place at the University of Wisconsin/Stevens Point.
In April you find me at Connecticut College.
HEADS up:
Dance Conduction Continuum: at Barishnikov Art Center (BAC) May 24 28 and June 21 through July 2nd,
DCC (co -director Germaul Barnes and I) are Barishnikov/Summerstages fellows and we will be in residence at the BAC. We will have informal performances every end of the week we are there. Stay tuned.
